We are a neighborhood gallery committed to preserving the art scene in San Francisco, more specifically, the Tenderloin. SPACE236 was conceived by Design Rehab and the Tenderloin Housing Clinic to capture the nostalgia and charm through its artists and their stories by various mediums of artwork.
Our mission is to showcase the creatives and individuals in the community with a visionary message. Our displaying artists share personal experiences in San Francisco and work hand in glove with the gallery curator, Barry Lai, to fine tune their show concept. Displayed artwork range from paintings, illustration, photography, and sculptures. We aim to rotate six themed exhibits, with multiple artists per exhibit, throughout the year. All artwork is publicly listed for sale and will be displayed for two months at a time.
Aside from our rotating exhibits, SPACE236 also hosts social events with the central theme of knowledge and inspiration. Our creatives speak on their craft and hold open forums in efforts to bring our community closer and foster inspiration.
We believe any space deserves a complementary decorative element - whether it be an accent colored wall, a mural, or an sculpture. We offer private consultation services to help our clients find the perfect solution fit to their environment.
We support the arts in San Francisco and appreciate the growing interest in keeping the art culture strong. Our curator will vet all inquiries before being featured. Please start by submitting a sample of your work or portfolio here.
